Aftercare Assistant

Responsibilities

  • Supervise children throughout the Aftercare program.
  • Create a warm, fun, and caring atmosphere for students.
  • Assist with age-appropriate activities, games, and play.
  • Maintain a safe environment for all participants.
  • Serve as a positive role model for students.
  • Communicate with parents during daily pick-up.
  • Maintain open communication with Aftercare staff and school personnel.
  • Keep program spaces neat and orderly.
  • Respond proactively to issues or concerns as they arise.
  • Report concerns involving students, staff, or the program to the supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old or have a valid work permit.
  • Must be willing to become CPR certified.
  • Previous experience teaching or working with elementary school-aged children is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of school-aged children.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Dependable, courteous, and professional.

Hours & Compensation

This is a part-time position.

Monday–Thursday: 3:00–6:00 p.m.
Friday: 3:00–5:00 p.m.

Pay: $18.75–$24.50 per hour

A background check is required. This position is not eligible for benefits.
