St. James Academy offers a quality summer program for children ages 4 to 16. These coed activities provide exceptional camp experiences to nurture children’s growth academically, socially, athletically, spiritually, and emotionally in a secure and positive environment. The program offers several enrichment opportunities for students that inspire them to explore, play, perform, design, build, and learn.

The facility contains more than 104,000 square feet of new and renovated space, including a design thinking lab, science labs, theater, full-size gymnasium, athletic fields, and tennis courts.

Top of The Bay Lacrosse Camp

  • This camp is beneficial for experience, intermediate and beginner level players because the camp is staffed properly. Our coaches teach the skills and the players will train in the skills in progressions that help players understand the how and why of the concepts.

Camp Features & Curriculum

  • 12 hours of expert instruction by a staff comprised of current and former college players and USA National Team Head Coach (2011) Krystin Porcella.
  • Top of the Bay Reversible for each athlete and other STX Give-a-ways
  • Opportunities to win prizes during daily competitions
  • Snack provided by Frito Lay

Individual Offensive Skills: Passing, catching, shooting, stick protection, dodging, ground balls and draws

Individual Defensive Skills: 1v1 position, footwork, forcing, checking, takeaways

Goalies: Proper warm up, stance, positioning, shot stop, rebounds, clearing, understanding the defense, communication, leadership, mental aspects.

Team Concepts & Lax IQ: team attack principles, team defense principles, draw principles, fast break and transitions.

Competitions: Fastest shot per age group, draw control tournament per age group, 1v1 tournament per age group

Experience fun and an enriching summer art camp on the lovely St. James Academy campus. Children will be surrounded by nature, and each day will include sketching from nature and hikes to gather nature-inspired materials for sketches or sculptures. Many techniques and materials will be used to let the children create their own masterpieces and have no limits on their imagination.

Camp Invention

Fast Forward to Camp Invention’s new 2018 program where campers will explore with fun, hands-on activities that encourage creative problem solving, teamwork, entrepreneurship and curiosity. At the end of the program, each camper will bring home two personalized robots!

U.K. Elite Soccer half day and full day camps return to The St James Academy in 2017. UK Elite Soccer’s educated and enthusiastic coaches will motivate all players, regardless of age and ability in a fun, positive and sport-specific environment. Every camp is action-packed including world cup style tournaments & skills challenges to bring out the best in each player.

Intermediate Vocal Workshop

Intermediate Vocal Workshop for rising 4th & 5th Graders

Skill building will include: Music literacy for singers, Sight Reading, Composition, Self-Accompaniment on pitched instruments, Harmonic Singing, and Improvisation. Students will learn physical and mental warm-up techniques and gain practical application of vocal crossing training (head and chest voice). Over the course of the week, students will sing both group and solo repertoire. Students will need to bring a yoga mat, yoga block, notebook, and binder. Parents will be sent music files via email that students will have to listen to ahead of time. Limited to 12 students.

Advanced Vocal Workshop

Advanced Vocal Workshop for Rising Middle School students

Courses of Study will include: Solo Singing, Posture Clinic, How to Manage Voice Changes, Music Literacy for Singers, Sight Reading, Harmonic Singing, and Improvisation, Managing Nerves/Self-Doubt. Students will learn physical and mental warm-up techniques and gain practical application of vocal crossing training (head and chest voice). Over the course of the week, students will sing both group and solo repertoire, with the end goal of preparing a 32 bar audition piece (will not be songs related to upcoming SJA musical). Students will need to bring a yoga mat, yoga block, notebook, and binder. Parents will be sent music files via email that students will have to listen to ahead of time. Limited to 12 students.
