Spotlight on Mrs. Cheryl Bubier

websiteimageMrs. Bubier has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communications Arts and Design from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has been a working artist in galleries across the country for over 30 years. Additionally, Mrs. Bubier is the President and a founding member of the Northern Baltimore County Art Foundation, a non-profit organization that supports the arts.

We asked Mrs. Bubier to tell us more about her experience and interests!

What does St. James Academy mean to you?

“St. James is about having fun with the children and teaching them to love art.”

What do you want the students to learn from you? 

“I want my students to learn the love of the arts and appreciate all art forms.”

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

“In my spare time I like to spend time with my three children, my husband of 30 years, and work in my studio.”

Who inspired you growing up?

“My minister Jimmy Schwartz inspired me when I was growing up.”

If you could meet one famous person who would it be and why?

“If I could meet one famous person it would be Jon Stewart because I would laugh the entire time.”

Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know.

“I worked at Columbia Pictures working on set designs with Ivan Reitman and Ridley Scott. I am in the credits at the end of the film “Twins,” starring Danny DeVito and Arnold Schwarzenegger.”
