First Lego League- Beyond the Classroom

Congratulations to the members of our Lego Robotics team for competing in the First Lego League (FLL)
Competition at Carroll Community College on Saturday, January 25. FLL is a program designed to create excitement and exploration about technology, science, and engineering. Teams from all around the world participate in this annual challenge.

The challenge is based on a set of real-world scenarios that scientists and engineers face in today’s society. The teams had to use critical thinking and problem solving strategies to work together and create innovative solutions. Teams had to design, build, program, and test autonomous robots using Lego Mindstroms technology. Then, the teams had to research a real-world scenario in the field of this season’s challenge theme, “Nature’s Fury.”

SJA students did an outstanding job. The team worked well together and created several inventive ideas. The group presented a PowerPoint on California wildfires and had to develop a product that would prevent these fires. The group was able to work together as a team and produce several solutions to the scenarios.

Stay tuned to see what other inventive ideas our Lego Robotics team will come up with for next year!
