Favorite SJA memory: There are a lot! The trips, Science and Tech projects, Cross Country meets, cooking in French class, the play in 8th grade (Fiddler on the Roof). If I were to pick one though, the close-knit and supportive community is definitely what still stands out to me as the most special and unique part of my experience.
How did SJA Prepare you for the future: I think the diverse experiences I took part in at SJA really prepared me for the future. As I have become more singularly focused on music, I have really come to cherish the ways that I branched out at SJA, and have a greater appreciation for the importance of engaging myself in a variety of ways.
Education after SJA, degrees, majors, etc:
- Peabody – Peabody Preparatory and Pre-Conservatory Violin Program (PCVP)
- Archbishop Curley 2019
Sophomore at Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music, Class of 2023
- Shepherd Society Award Winner, their highest level merit award
- Jack and Linda Gill Scholarship Recipient
- Major: Bachelor’s in Violin Performance
Career highlights: My experiences traveling and collaborating through music. I feel incredibly lucky to have spent two summers in the Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra where I performed with young musicians from 20+ countries, hiked in the Swiss alps, met some of my closest friends, and worked with top soloists and conductors. Also, the YoungArts Miami program where I met kids across arts fields and spent an intense week putting together a massive multimedia concert with people I had just met.
