Part-Time School Store & Lunch Program Coordinator

Responsibilities:

School Store Coordinator:

  • Responsible for the efficient operation of the school store:
    • The School Store Coordinator takes charge of stocking, cleaning, and organizing the store space.
  • Works with the Director of Marketing to design a collection that not only reflects school spirit but also maintains a consistent brand identity.
  • A key aspect of the role involves utilizing Square for various tasks:
    • Maintaining accurate inventory, handling proper receiving procedures, processing invoice payments, managing accounts receivable, and facilitating customer sales seamlessly.
  • The Coordinator oversees online orders, ensuring that sold merchandise is promptly pulled, and billing is efficiently handled through Square.
  • A keen eye is applied to pricing and promotional strategies, with the aim of boosting sales and creating an engaging shopping experience for the school community.

Lunch Program Coordinator:

  • Responsible for working with vendors and the school community to coordinate the ordering of school lunches.
  • Design and implement a system for tracking orders and ensuring that items are accurately delivered to the school, and served to students
  • Responsible for managing on-site delivery and sorting of lunches each day, assisted by parent volunteers as recruited by the Parents’ Association
  • Responsible for ensuring stock of lunchroom supplies in both Lower School Gathering Space and MacDonald Hall, such as plastic cutlery, napkins, and extra snacks.
  • Responsible for coordinating “blackout” days for ordering as dictated by field trips, classroom events, half days, school cancellations, etc.
  • Liaison to parents for issues with orders, student absences, and general troubleshooting.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and effective time-management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills; capable of using tact and diplomacy in dealing with others
  • Knowledge of retail operating principles, practices and procedures is a plus (cashiering, basic accounting, budgeting, marketing/retail, inventory management, etc).

Schedule:

Hours during the school year:

MWF 10am-2pm (on campus)
TuTh 10am-4pm (on campus)
One hour (remote)
Total 25 hrs. per week

Mid-June through July:
No hours required

August:
Mostly remote work, occasionally on campus, 10 hrs. per week
