Sports Mix Camp PreK/Kindergarten

Spend the morning getting the wiggles out! This camp features classes on track and field, Tabata training (interval training), yoga and even just keeping kids in motion through fun and unique backyard games. Dynasty Sports puts an emphasis on coordination, agility, and basic fitness concepts that will hopefully pave the way for a healthy and active lifestyle all while having tons of fun doing it! Campers should bring a water bottle and snack to camp every day.

Science Guys: Crazy Chemistry

Budding chemists conduct hands-on experiments connecting real-world materials with scientific principles. Students will learn about the elements on our interactive Periodic Table, make their own slime recipes, mix eruptions, explosions, and even make elephant toothpaste!

Doll and Me Camp

Get ready for a week of fun at Doll and Me Camp! Bring along your favorite doll and explore each day’s exciting theme – Spa Day, Tea Party Day, Luau Day, and Pajama Party/Fashion Show Day. Enjoy crafts designed for both campers and their dolls. To wrap up the week, create matching shirts for you and your doll, and showcase your style in a fashion show.

Fairy Camp Week of June 17

Welcome to Fairy Camp with Mrs. Holloway and Ms. Hicks! Campers ages 8 and up will spend a magical week creating woodland/fairy crafts, playing fairy games, and creating their own EDIBLE fairy garden to take home and enjoy! Ms. Hicks has been teaching art for more than 30 years and her philosophy remains the same: everyone has creativity in them, one only needs to open one’s mind to the possibilities that artistic expression has to offer. Mrs. Holloway has been creating her own fairy gardens for over 10 years and currently has 16 fairy gardens at her house. Each summer, she replants the live gardens with new plants and rearranges her artificial flower gardens. She is excited to branch out into edible fairy gardens. Don’t let the word “fairy” turn you away from this camp – it’s super fun for older kids as well! Just ask the campers who return year after year – even when they are in high school!

Chess Camp with Magnus Chess Academy Week of June 17

Magnus Chess Academy chess camps are made for everyone! We’ve taught more than 100,000 kids of all skill levels, from beginners learning the rules up to state and national champions. Campers are broken up in groups by skill level for lessons that range from the basic rules to master games, openings, endgames, and tactics. Students will build upon their skills by playing practice games against other students. At the end of the week, each camper will receive a t-shirt and their very own chess set! Students will take breaks for fresh air throughout the day. All equipment is provided.

Lego Robotics Jr

Join Mrs. & Ms. Fiero in fun with Lego Robotics! We will create, design, and code using LEGO bricks powered by LEGO® Education SPIKETM Essential. Calling all young engineers to create an amusement park! We will work together to design a spinning carousel, swing ride, twirling teacups, and spinning Ferris wheel by using the design thinking process! Students will learn to collaborate as a team, brainstorm, test, and improve ideas in this camp! *No experience necessary! Bring just your love of Legos and have fun!

Wizard and Wizarding Camp - Week 1 (Waitlist)

It is year 3 of Wizard and Wizarding camp, and we welcome first year students, as well as experienced wizards! This year our activities will be based on the 3rd book, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. We will make potions, learn spells, create a model of Buckbeak, travel through time using a time turner, and search for the escaped Sirius Black! Campers will be sorted into houses and will work during the week to win the coveted House Cup! The camp will once again include classes such as Potions, Dueling, Care of Magical Creatures, Divination, Quill Writing, and of course, Quidditch! *Campers will need to bring their own plastic cauldron for Potions class. They may bring a stuffed owl or purchase one in Diagon Alley for $5.00 on the first day of camp.

PreK/ K Little Vet School Week of June 24

Calling all future vets! We’re excited to bring Little Vet School to campus this summer. After “adopting” their very own plush puppy or kitten, students will role-play the key responsibilities of a veterinarian, including how to properly perform a nose-to-tail exam. These future veterinarians will learn how to sew stitches, remove ticks, make healthy treats, and vaccinate their pet.

Wilderness Medical School

Conquer the great outdoors! Camp participants will role-play emergency situations in the wild and learn how to prepare for natural disasters. These future emergency medics will learn about snake bites, hypothermia, tourniquets, poisonous plants, edible plants, distress signals, forest fires, tornadoes, mosquito bites, and more.

Science Guys: Engineering Earth

Time to stretch those engineering skills! Campers will learn how to utilize the Engineering Design Process to solve problems and complete challenges, such as building bridges, skyscrapers, and spheres! We do tons of creative free building, so students are challenged to work together and use their engineering skills.

Science Guys: Physics

Spend a week focusing on the FUNdamentals of physics! Kids learn the forces of nature and the science of motion. We explore magnetism, centripetal force, inertia, momentum, gravity, air pressure, electricity, and explosions! Sir Newton would be proud!

Imagimask Camp

Make a plaster mask and let your imagination go wild with decorating! We will have a blast making a wearable mask from strips of plaster. We will paint them and embellish with all the necessary goodies to make your mask unique. Ms. Hicks has been an art teacher for over 30 years and she will be happy to provide guidance and supplies to make your imagination come to life. Mrs. Holloway, the middle school Spanish teacher, has some fun games up her sleeve for the break times during each day. Join Ms. Hicks and Mrs. Holloway for this fun-filled 3-day creative experience!

Rising Kindergarten - 5th Grade Little Vet School Week of July 1

Become a paw-some and purr-fect veterinarian! Camp participants will role-play the key responsibilities of a veterinarian and learn how to care for a dog and/or a cat. These future veterinarians will learn how to remove ticks, perform a nose- to-tail exam, understand proper animal nutrition and hydration, suture lacerations, and more!

Lego Minion Mania with Drobots

Once Upon a Time…Gru Was a Kid Just Like You! This summer will be perfect for campers to use the latest STEM-approved robots and LEGOS to help Gru in his quest to become the greatest supervillain of all time! Participants will work with (and against) the Minions to build, drive and crash their way through robotic obstacle escape challenges and Despicable Ramps! Campers will learn and use Drobots’ engineering and design process to create their very own Super Villain avatar and test it against the ongoing threat of other villains attempting to pilfer their THUNDER. Children, separated into small teams, will gain exposure to introductory coding concepts via the latest line-following bots and block coding platforms. This program offers an abundance of fun and experimental model building, LEGO-Machining events and Supercoder Challenges! Remember, just because Minions look cute and cuddly, they can be very VERY Destructive with a Shrink Ray Blaster! Good Luck, and don’t forget to strap on your thinking cap! This camp is hosted in partnership with Drobots.

Dynasty Sports Basketball Camp

Join us for a week of basketball! Our engaging and educational lesson plans focus on building confidence as well as learning basketball fundamentals such as dribbling, passing, and shooting techniques. Designed to go beyond skill development, our program aims to foster self-esteem, enhance core motor skills, and refine coordination through a series of enjoyable exercises and games.

Science Guys: CSI

CSI camp is a favorite. Kids conduct cool science experiments using DNA, fingerprinting, fibre analysis, and anatomy. They collect clues, identify suspects, and solve crimes using their crime-fighting tool kits. At the end of the week, our budding detectives will work together and use their new skills to solve a mystery and save the Science Guys!

Neverlanders Camp

Ahoy, story lovers! Grab your spyglass and get ready for an epic story adventure with Mrs. Fiero and Ms. Fiero. Each day, students will dive into a story featuring a beloved story or movie — and then use their imagination to solve a character’s problem through hands-on STEAM activities. We will make a volcano science experiment inspired by Moana and Maui, make fizzing fairy potions, and use chemistry to make a self-inflating Forky!

Swifties, are you ready for it?? Join us this summer as we go on a little adventure together on an Eras tour, spanning 17 years of music. We will sing and dance to songs that we know all too well, dress up for and learn about each era, and make and trade friendship bracelets. We will discuss how song lyrics are like poetry, and campers will have a chance to write lyrics of their own. We will also design a vinyl cover and a personalized tour poster. Campers will also be fearless and learn a few dances to show off to parents at the end of camp. So, if you have a blank space in your July calendar, make sure it’s not a cruel summer, and sign up your Swiftie!

Ultimate Drone Obstacle with Drobots

This action-packed program is specifically designed for both the novice and experienced drone enthusiasts. Full of excitement, teamwork, learning, and fun, campers enjoy one of the world’s fastest growing sports, Drone Obstacle Course Racing! Throughout the week, campers learn about the basic safety of drone flying and the history behind drone racing as a sport. As the week progresses, campers will advance through various skill challenges, learning how to perform assorted exercises and maneuvers to become familiar with the drone’s speed and agility. Campers will use iPads and remote controls to pitch, yaw and roll their drones through some of Drobots’ most daring obstacle courses. Participants will utilize their creative minds to help design the obstacle layout and then build the obstacle course in preparation for the camp’s final activity and competition.

Adventure Writing Workshop Week of July 22

Welcome new and returning campers to the Adventure Writing Workshop hosted by Mrs. Holloway! Mrs. Holloway, a Spanish teacher at SJA, has held Adventure Writers for budding authors since 2018. Campers will create, type, and illustrate their own “Choose Your Own Adventure” book. Some campers prefer to work on their own individual book, while others create a joint book with their friends. Each book has multiple endings, and if you like to draw, you can include your own sketches in the book as well! For those who don’t feel artistic, there are many images on the computer available for inclusion in your creative masterpiece. Students may also choose to write a chapter book instead. All books will be bound and sent home with students on the last day of camp.

Flag Football Camp

Learn the fundamentals of football! Students will learn how to run with the football, throw and catch as well as go through agility drills that will help increase overall speed and quickness. We will use common football terminology as well and will help the athletes understand the game and be able to identify key positions on the field (Quarterback, Runningback, Wide Receiver, etc). Defensive drills will also be incorporated into the program. Classes will be structured around flag football skills, drills and other football activities. The goal of the camp is to work up to the playing of an actual flag football game through fun drills and exercises. Game play will be a big part of the camp!
