The admission office is open throughout the summer. We welcome calls from prospective families for the 2010-2011 school year!

"What a fabulous school and community. This is a parochial school but comfortable for families outside the Episcopal faith, which we are. Top notch teachers and administrators make you feel like a real part of the school and up to speed always with your child's progress. Difficult to be accepted here so apply in October and don't be discouraged if you are waitlisted. A bit pricey but worth every penny and on par academically and in prestige with the downtown Baltimore schools which are a bit more. If you are looking for a higher end education with or without religious affiliation be sure to visit the beatiful campus. Loads of 'prep school type' extra-curricular activities like lax, tennis, soccer, field hockey, great music and drama programs including private lessons incorporated into the school day. Unless you are looking at Exeter and Andover you can't do any better."

The Association of Independent Maryland Schools (AIMS) suggests the you "talk to people who are familiar with independent schools and you are likely to hear them speak of their schools in terms of their "values" and "purpose"-as well as lauding their strong teaching, academic rigor, individual attention to students, supportive atmosphere, and sense of community". Welcome from the Admission team at SJA!

Nearly every morning we have the wonderful opportunity to share the St. James Academy experience with prospective families who come to see our students in action.

As each family learns about what happens at SJA, we learn what is important to that family when selecting an educational community for their child.

Originally founded in 1821, St. James Academy is an Episcopal parish day school for children in Kindergarten through Grade 8. Located on 89 leafy acres in Monkton, Maryland, the school provides rigorous preparation for high school matriculation.

St. James Academy is all about community. When you enroll your child at St. James, your family becomes part of our community. If you talk to any of our parents, you will hear that this is what they value about having their children at SJA. Parent involvement is an integral part of the experience here. Students and their families find a place that is warm and welcoming.

The program at St. James Academy is focused on individual attention to each child’s intellectual, spiritual, emotional, social, and physical growth. With this strong foundation built during the lower and middle school grades, each graduate is well prepared to lead a creative, compassionate, and productive life.

While we do have scheduled Open Houses in the fall and spring each year, SJA is Open House ready every day! If you would like to schedule a tour of this vibrant learning community or have questions for our team, you can contact us at 410-329-3292 or admissions@saintjamesacademy.org

We look forward to meeting you and your children soon.
