At the end of the year, on Moving Up Day, graduating Eighth Grade students become members of the St. James Alumni Association. The SJA Alumni Association is open to all students who have attended the Academy.
When Dr. Legenhausen arrived at St. James Academy in 1987, she learned that records of former SJA students had been inadvertently discarded. She set in motion a system to insure that current student data be retained. With the help of Trustee, grandparent and former SJA librarian, Marion Norman, a group of former Academy parents began the process of gathering missing alumni information for the classes 1960 through 1985.
Several years ago, members of our adult SJA Alumni began developing the Alumni Association, writing bylaws and continuing to research alumni data. Vicky Hurdle Chew, Tom Moore, Monty McCausland, Jack Robbins, Louise Hoffecker Gill, Claudia Guild, Brook Behner, Ryan McClernan, Betsy Berndt Powell, and Juliet Stegman Lombardy spent countless hours identifying and locating classmates. Since information is still missing, you are invited to share your contacts!
