| Visit Us |
| We believe that there is no substitute for visiting a school when you are
considering an independent school education for your child. Seeing our students
in action will let you share their enthusiasm for learning and experience the
strong sense of community at St. James Academy.
|
| Our Placement Process |
| The admission process for the
Academy begins with submission of an application. Upon receipt of the application
and testing fee, a date will be scheduled for the admission screening. Kindergarten applicants
should be 5 years of age by
September 1. Parents may request a discussion with the Admission Director for an
exception to this entry birth date. Kindergarten applicants are
schedules for individual screening in January or February. Children
applying to Grades 2-8 will also be scheduled to spend a day with the class for which they are a
candidate. An admission screening will be administered on the day of their
visit. Students applying to Kindergarten, Prefirst, or First Grades will be
given an appointment for an admission screening. Time is spent with each family
reviewing the results of the admission screening. Parents are provided an
opportunity to share pertinent information about
their child with the Admission Director. A current school transcript and the
Independent School Common
Referral Form (from the child's current teacher) completes your child's
admission file. The Academy's admission committee reviews all candidates'
files in February and the first round of decision letters are sent on March 1. Parents then have
until April to return the enrollment contract and tuition deposit.
Applications continue to be accepted throughout the spring for any available
positions.

| Financial Assistance |
| We are proud that 9% of tuition
revenue is designated per year for need-based
tuition assistance. Financial aid application forms are available in the
Admission Office. Saint James Academy admits students, faculty, and staff of
any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all opportunities available at the
school. Our facility is fully accessible to handicapped persons.
