| History | ||
St. James Academy, a mission of Saint James Episcopal Church, was originally founded in 1821. It was reestablished in 1957 by church and community leaders who recognized the need for an excellent Christian education for children in Kindergarten through Grade 8. Founding leaders envisioned a school with high academic standards and an emphasis on religious values that stressed responsibility to the greater community.

As responsible stewards, the Academy's Board of Trustees and the Vestry of Saint James Church have identified several vital needs to uphold our tradition of excellence. We are committed to:
| Where We Excel | ||
| Those involved in the St. James' community believe that this is a special place. Parents are enthusiastic about the educational program, the dedication of the faculty, and the caring and considerate atmosphere, as expressed in their commitment and contributions of time, talent, and treasure to the school. The faculty further solidifies this feeling through their individual dedication and commitment to the children. The administration continually redresses the individual elements of the education program while assuring the well-being of the whole. And, finally, ask our children - see their faces, hear them laugh, watch them grow! The successes of our children are the true exemplar of our combined efforts. | ||
