Dear Members of the St. James Academy Community,
St. James Academy has completed a Long Range Strategic Planning (LRSP) process, begun during the spring of 2011 with a final report approved late fall 2011 (available in SJA’s library). This process is undertaken by our Board of Trustees every three to five years to continue SJA’s excellence and maintain our relevance. The theme of our plan is
“Sustainability: Building on a Solid Foundation”
Steering Committee members Al Rubeling (Chair), Polly Crosby, Annette Fries, Sandy Doeller, Susan Grant, Don Greenawalt, Dwight Hanna, Tom Moore, Matt Rockstroh, and Elizabeth Legenhausen invited over 50 community volunteers to serve on seven sub-committees: Admission/Marketing/PR/Advertising, Board Governance, Community Action (Academics/Curriculum/Technology), Athletics, Spiritual Growth, Finance, and Resource/Repurpose. Analysis of demographic data, review of current research, and community survey input yielded LRSP priorities. By approving the LRSP, the Board is committed to funding and implementing these initiatives listed in no particular order:
· Marketing Initiatives including the addition of personnel and technology
· A Campaign for Endowment & Development of Library/Media Center Identity
· An Athletic Master Plan
· Emphasis on K-8 Branding
· Emphasis on 21st Century learning/instructional tools for the “New Normal”
· Emphasis on SJA’s Spiritual Identity
· Exploration of Energy Conservation
The process of Long Range Strategic Planning necessitates thoughtful and responsible discernment, involves thorough study, as well as a willingness to address potentially challenging issues. This important endeavor directs us into the future of possibilities and work has begun to initiate and realize identified areas.
Sincerely,
Tom Moore, President, SJA Board of Trustees
Al Rubeling, Chair, SJA LRSP
