A Letter From Karl Adler to the SJA Community

November 19, 2011
Dear St. James Academy Community:

It is with great pleasure that I accept the position as the next Head of School of St. James Academy. The St. James community has bestowed a great honor upon me and I am grateful for the community's support. I look forward to leading St. James next year and as it moves forward into the future.

I look forward to learning more about the school's values, traditions, joys, and concerns. I recognize that I am following in the footsteps of a very accomplished leader, Dr. Elizabeth Legenhausen. In the coming months, I hope to work closely with Dr. Legenhausen, and many of the committed members of the St. James community, so that this transition runs smoothly.

As the next Head of School, I will work very hard to meet the school's needs. I will continue to foster a collaborative environment in which children can thrive and learn. I also will work to increase the school's visibility in the community. I will reach out to community organizations and work hard to promote the school to families who live closer to Baltimore. As a collaborative leader, I hope to empower faculty members and administrators to continue working in creative, vibrant ways. I also will work as a partner with the parish to promote the values of St. James and to maintain its strong sense of community.

My family and I are very excited to join the St. James community. We have a great deal to be thankful for this Thanksgiving and we look forward to seeing everyone again soon. Thank you again.

Sincerely,
Karl Adler
