Sixth Grade mathematics is a year of mastery of the concepts introduced in fourth grade and reviewed in fifth grade. Math 6 will include four components:
Traditional practice with computation skills
Critical thinking skills (problem solving, searching for relationships and patterns)
Writing (notetaking, writing clear explanations)
Application of concepts
These components will often be combined in many of the class activities. All will be addressed each week.
Homework: Assigned daily in class and posted on the
SJA website. Expect to see assignments
written in the assignment pad.
